We're past the halfway point of the summer season and that officially, or at least statistically, signifies the onset of the downward sales slide. While buyer activity remains steady, we anticipate it to characteristically taper off as well. The kiddies are headed back to prison, er, school in a few weeks and Lake Keowee as a whole will experience longer and longer periods of reduced activity. The great thing about Keowee is that due to the breathtaking colors on display throughout the fall, we ordinarily have a pretty substantial autumn selling season. But if you haven't sold by early November you may as well settle in for that long winter's nap because you ain't selling until spring.
So if you're a seller and whether you currently have interested parties or not clean up the homestead and make it as appealing as possible. You may even want to consider jumping the gun and making an offer to the buyer. I know, it sounds a little nuts but we've done it and it works as often as not. What's wrong with making an attractive offer on an attractive property? It may very well give that buyer the nudge he/she needs to make something good happen.
If you're a buyer, go ahead and make the offer. The sellers want to sell and what's the worst thing that could happen? You keep all your money.
