Real estate on Lake Keowee continues to move along at a mildly accelerated pace. More people are out searching, and even a few are buying. We have seen a spike in Web site visits as well as videos viewed over the past week. This is a good indicator that more people are getting ready to find that special piece of property to purchase. The average buyer will spend a couple of weeks on the Internet trying to find a few properties that meet their needs and then come out to view them when the number is sufficiently small to digest. So, we expect to see a trend up in new contracts and closings on Lake Keowee property that should last until the end of July. Then it should slowly decrease into the fall.
If you are a seller, get your property ready to sell now! Make sure it competes well with the others in its category, make sure it is clean and easy to view, and be ready to make changes quickly based on potential purchasers feedback. If your not getting feedback the market is telling us you are priced too high, look hard at dropping your price.
If you are a buyer, it's obviously a great time to buy Lake Keowee property!

At exactly what point does profit outweigh reason? It is my understanding that for approximately $500,000, the equivalency of a handful of warm spit to these guys, BP or Transocean or Halliburton or Enron or Worldcom or Bernie Madeoff or the IRS or whoever is in charge of this debacle could have included a system that would have incorporated additional safeguards that would have almost assuredly prevented this entire cataclysm. These are the folks who redecorate their offices for no less than a cool million a pop. What made them decide that this would be the place to begin being frugal? This $500k insurance policy on their currently twisted and mangled oily pipey thingy would have cost only a fraction of their $6,000,000,000 (that's 6 Billion with a "B") first quarter PROFITS (not operating costs and after taxes). This doesn't mention preventing the immeasurable and needless damage being done to the Gulf Coast region, and oh yea, keeping 11 people from being Incinerated (that's Incinerated with an "I"). I guess what they should have been pondering was, "how much is it going to cost us when we are responsible for killing 11 people and Destroying - capital "D"- one of the United States' largest ecosystems?" Profit, it is the goal of capitalism; but, when pursued at the expense of EVERYTHING else, the end result is too costly. That's EVERYTHING with an "EVERYTHING!"
